Sales Engineer (AI)

Location: US West Coast required; Bay Area strongly preferred. Travel to customer accounts may be required up to 20% of the time.

What you will do

• Provide technical product expertise throughout the customer journey.
• Conduct standard and custom product demonstrations, support proofs of concept, and assist with evaluations.
• Guide customers through application architecture, design, development, and production deployment.
• Scope and plan Professional Services projects and support customer success activities.
• Evaluate and tune retrieval and agentic pipelines to meet enterprise performance requirements.
• Respond to technical and functional RFIs/RFPs and communicate customer feedback to Product, Engineering, and Machine Learning teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Sales Engineering experience in AI, ML, search, analytics, or data engineering.
• Experience selling technical products to AI, data, or IT organizations in large enterprises.
• 2+ years of Professional Services or internal development experience designing and developing enterprise applications.
• Experience with agentic AI development, including context layers, agent harnesses, skills, tools, and guardrails.
• Development experience with Python and/or Java, plus experience building applications that consume REST services.
• Understanding of cloud and on-premise architecture, including SaaS, VPC, multi-tenancy, automation, GPUs, virtualization, Kubernetes, and networking.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
