Accounting Manager (AI Infrastructure)

Location: San Mateo, United States; hybrid

Salary: $180,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, leases, payroll accounts, and intercompany activity.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliation, aging analysis, variance review, and timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Manage accounting for cloud hosting, GPU capacity, data center costs, prepaid commitments, vendor accruals, and other infrastructure-related expenses.
• Evaluate accounting treatment for capitalized software and internal-use technology under ASC 350-40, and manage leases under ASC 842.
• Develop close calendars, accounting policies, process documentation, review controls, and SOX-ready control frameworks.
• Automate accounting workflows and support ERP, accounting systems, data integrations, external audits, tax, compliance, and due diligence projects.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in high-growth technology, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or similarly complex environments.
• Strong experience owning the general ledger and month-end close.
• Deep knowledge of accrual accounting, reconciliations, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, leases, payroll accounting, and financial statement presentation.
• Technical accounting experience with ASC 350-40 and ASC 842, plus external audit support and accounting documentation.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite and data tools including SQL, BigQuery, or reconciliation platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA eligibility is preferred.

• Experience with AI-enabled accounting automation and high-volume cloud or GPU vendor activity.
