Senior Accountant (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Diego or Mountain View, California; office attendance required at least 3 days per week.

Base pay: San Diego $112,500–$152,500; Mountain View $119,500–$161,500 per year, plus potential bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Support month-end close and accurate reporting of liabilities and expenses.
• Review contracts and vendor agreements to determine accounting implications and proper classification.
• Manage accrual accounting processes for liabilities, expenses, vendor rebates, and recurring obligations.
• Research technical accounting issues and present recommended positions to accounting and business stakeholders.
• Perform control procedures, assess risks from system and process changes, and support compliance with company policies.
• Improve accounting processes using AI and automation tools and deliver training on expense coding policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including close processes, accrual accounting, and internal controls.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply accounting principles in practice.
• Experience performing technical accounting research and communicating conclusions to accounting and non-accounting audiences.
• Strong collaboration, organization, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work from the San Diego or Mountain View office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• CPA or active CPA candidacy.
• Experience reviewing contracts and interpreting vendor agreement terms.
• Familiarity with Coupa, CLM, Oracle, or BlackLine.
