Environment, Health and Safety Specialist (EV Automotive)

Location: Based in Columbia or Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; requires 4–5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and occasional domestic travel to other Scout locations are required.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate daily EHS activities and serve as the primary EHS contact for assigned Production and Construction departments in Blythewood.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, procedures, and practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure hazards are identified, mitigated, and managed.
• Own PPE, life-safety systems, and safety equipment while maintaining inspection and corrective-action records.
• Develop and deliver training programs for production and specialized work.
• Respond to incidents, participate in investigations and learning teams, and prepare safety performance reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in health, safety, engineering, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of EHS experience.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations in the United States.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and other collaboration tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work onsite 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CSP.
• At least 2 years supporting manufacturing operations.
• At least 2 years supporting facility construction projects.
• Experience in the EV automotive industry.
