Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Order Management Platform (Automotive)

Location: Fremont, California, United States; regular attendance in the office is required. The role includes in-person meetings, events, and occasional company travel.

Salary: $198,000–$242,000 annual California base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing software engineering team responsible for the Order Management Platform.
• Own the platform's engineering execution, reliability, scalability, operational excellence, and long-term evolution.
• Manage order lifecycle capabilities including order creation, vehicle configuration, pricing, financing, allocation, production readiness, fulfillment, delivery preparation, and customer communications.
• Integrate order management with CRM, payment, finance, ERP, manufacturing, inventory, logistics, delivery, and customer experience systems.
• Partner with Product Management, Staff Engineers, architects, and cross-functional business teams to define roadmaps and deliver critical capabilities.
• Establish production readiness, service-level objectives, incident management, observability, monitoring, alerting, and continuous improvement practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience leading teams that deliver customer-facing or business-critical platforms.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native architectures, event-driven systems, and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Ability to work regularly from the Fremont office and participate in in-person meetings and events.

Nice to have

• Experience with Order Management, Commerce, ERP, Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Manufacturing, or Logistics platforms.
• Experience supporting direct-to-consumer digital commerce and integrating enterprise, financial, or third-party systems.
• Familiarity with AI-powered applications, intelligent automation, and data-driven operational platforms.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, and modern DevOps practices.
• Automotive, retail, e-commerce, or fintech industry experience.
