NPI Hardware Co-op (8 Month - January 2027)

Location: Ottawa, Canada; lab and office work required

Pay: $25.00–$32.00 per hour

What you will do

• Develop software sequences and algorithms for testing electrical PCBs.
• Execute test sequences on initial prototypes and verify correct operation.
• Support the design and development of test hardware, including PCB design.
• Work with R&D teams to understand design requirements, specifications, and test parameters.
• Use data and analytics tools to analyze test limits and circuit operation, then adjust automated tests.
• Document test procedures for internal and external use.

Requirements

• Programming experience with C#, C, Python, and Matlab.
• Understanding of Linux, Linux tool development, and command-line scripting on Linux and Windows.
• Ability to read schematics and understand analog and digital circuits.
• Knowledge of I2C, I3C, SPI, MDIO, 1-wire, SGMII, and PCIe data protocols.
• Experience probing and debugging PCBs in a lab and using DMMs, SMUs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
• Strong communication, detailed problem-solving, and ability to explain test solutions and instructions.
