TL;DR
Electrical Engineering Intern (Aerospace): Supporting the development, testing, and maintenance of flight electronics for reaction wheel and star tracker products with an accent on hands-on hardware, circuit prototyping, and electronics design software. Focus on applying engineering concepts to real space hardware challenges, collaborating across teams, and developing technical skills through mentored projects.

Location: Toronto, Canada; full-time, on-site for at least 16 consecutive weeks beginning January 4, 2027

Salary: $60,008 CAD

What you will do

  • Support the Space Systems Division in bringing reaction wheel and star tracker products to market.
  • Contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of flight electronics.
  • Support implementation of new electronics design software.
  • Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve practical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with mentors and department colleagues, provide progress updates, and collaborate across teams.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or mathematics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
  • Available to work full-time on-site in Toronto for a minimum of 16 consecutive weeks starting January 4, 2027.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and collaborate in small, high-performing teams.

Nice to have

  • GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • At least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
  • Experience creating simple circuits, prototyping with breadboards or breakout boards, and soldering.
  • Python and computer-aided design experience.
