Hardware Test Engineer - Contract 3+ Months

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid workplace

Salary: CAD 50–88 per hour

What you will do

• Design and implement manual and automated test procedures, fixtures, software, and scripts for PCBs, subassemblies, and complete systems.
• Create test plans, cases, and reports aligned with design specifications and customer requirements.
• Maintain traceability, test records, and documentation for audits and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and hardware design teams on validation and design-for-testability feedback.
• Support prototype bring-up, hardware debugging, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in hardware testing, design validation, or a related field.
• Experience with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and VNAs.
• Experience with at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, MATLAB, Bash, or C/C++.
• Experience with CAD tools such as Altium, Eagle, Allegro, KiCad, or Upverter.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues, work independently and collaboratively, and document processes clearly.

Nice to have

• Knowledge or experience in space-related design or testing.
• Testing experience in low-volume, high-complexity environments.
