Procurement Assistant I

Location: Remote, associated with Huntsville, Alabama and U.S. Army CT locations

Pay range: $15.32 per hour. Health and welfare: $5.09.

What you will do

• Support the Procurement Specialist with procurement activities for Army Continuous Transformation operations.
• Review purchasing requirements, identify approved suppliers, and qualify new procurement sources.
• Prepare and distribute RFPs and RFQs, collect bids, evaluate proposals, and recommend suppliers.
• Apply Federal Acquisition Regulation principles and support compliant procurement documentation and audit readiness.
• Maintain vendor records, purchase requisitions, contract-expiration and spending reports, invoices, and procurement-system data.
• Track shipments, verify received quantities, support billing, and prepare reports, correspondence, and meeting materials.

Requirements

• At least two years of procurement experience; military contractor or Army-site experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; an associate’s degree in business administration or a related field is a plus.
• Knowledge of DoD or Army procurement processes and the FAR is highly desirable.
• Experience with financial recordkeeping, expense tracking, purchase orders, and procurement compliance.
• Microsoft Office experience, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Deltek Costpoint or similar procurement-system experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, REAL ID, ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card, and Tier 1/NACI Public Trust eligibility are required.
