Project Engineer Senior/Principal (Power Generation)

Location: On-site in Hallsville, Texas or Columbus, Ohio; open to qualified candidates throughout the AEP footprint. Travel up to 25% outside Ohio during construction.

Salary: $110,000–$151,000 per year for Senior and Principal grades. The listed compensation range is $98,993.00–$151,132.50.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering activities for new-build and major retrofit generation projects.
• Develop and manage engineering work plans, design reviews, and responses to Requests for Information.
• Coordinate engineering work among AEP teams, developers, architects and engineers, OEMs, EPC contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Support conceptual and detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Schedule and lead engineering meetings and provide progress updates to project teams and stakeholders.
• Travel to AEP generation facilities, including occasional overnight trips.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or an accepted equivalent qualification.
• Senior grade: typically 4+ years of related engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years with a master’s degree or PhD.
• Principal grade: typically 8+ years of related engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years with a master’s degree or PhD.
• Mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology experience is preferred.
• Experience overseeing multidisciplinary engineering work is preferred.
• On-site work in Hallsville, Texas or Columbus, Ohio and travel up to 25% outside Ohio during construction are required.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer registration in a U.S. state or Puerto Rico.
• Experience with utility-scale power generation projects, including gas turbines, solar, wind, battery energy storage, or environmental retrofits.
