Power Plant Fleet Engineer (Boiler)

Location: Amarillo, TX 79101, United States; hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office

Salary: $70,000–$156,600 per year, plus an annual incentive plan of 8%, 10%, or 12% depending on level.

What you will do

• Perform inspections, coordinate repairs, tune combustion systems, and optimize the performance of coal- and gas-fired boilers.
• Support engineering activities for heat recovery steam generators and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Develop designs, calculations, testing documentation, reports, standards, and procedures.
• Provide technical support and field oversight for operations, maintenance, diagnostics, inspections, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Lead or coordinate projects covering research, design, equipment selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, budgeting, and work-order management.
• Act as a boiler subject matter expert, manage technical evaluations, and coordinate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum or recognized equivalent.
• Relevant experience requirements range from 0+ years at entry level to 15+ years for principal level, depending on qualifications and level.
• Entry and staff levels prefer an EIT/FE; senior level requires EIT/FE with 5+ years or 7+ years without it.
• Principal level requires 9+ years with PE registration or 15+ years without PE registration.
• Ability to demonstrate the technical skills and competencies associated with the applicable engineering level.
• Ability to work in Amarillo, Texas, on a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office.

Nice to have

• Power plant engineering experience.
• Mechanical, chemical, civil, or industrial engineering degree.
• EIT/FE or PE registration, as applicable to the engineering level.
