Controls Engineer (Staff, Senior, or Principal) (Energy)

Salary: $81,800–$156,600 per year, depending on level and experience.

What you will do

• Apply engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to complex controls engineering assignments.
• Develop and support technical documentation, including designs, calculations, testing materials, reports, standards, and procedures.
• Provide technical support for operations, maintenance, testing, diagnostics, and regulatory activities.
• Lead or coordinate project phases including research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Support bid and proposal evaluations, technical recommendations, budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management.
• Provide field engineering oversight, coordinate technical work, and mentor less experienced engineers, interns, technicians, and other personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering is preferred.
• Staff level: 2+ years of relevant engineering experience; EIT/FE is strongly preferred.
• Senior level: 5+ years of relevant experience with EIT/FE, or 7+ years without EIT/FE; PE registration may be required depending on business needs.
• Principal level: 9+ years of relevant experience with PE registration, or 15+ years without PE registration.
• Demonstrated technical skills and competencies appropriate to the selected engineering level.
