What you will do

• Coordinate transmission-system operations, planned outages, restoration of service, switching, facility loadings, and operating voltage levels.
• Review switching orders and one-line diagrams, ensuring compliance with safety and departmental procedures.
• Support emergency outage restoration, storm response, outage reporting, and customer-related outage issues.
• Execute Transmission Operations outage-coordination procedures and participate in project management and working-group activities.
• Perform switching audits, support dispatcher qualification attestations, and assist with operator training.
• Deliver switching and tagging training to business units and fulfill assigned incident command responsibilities.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree in electrical or electronic engineering, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma with two years of power-system operation or dispatching experience.
• At least six years of transmission real-time operations experience, including two years in a principal, senior coordinator, senior engineer, or reliability coordinator role.
• NERC Reliability Operator or Transmission Operator certification required and must be maintained.
• Valid state driver's license required.
• Ability to analyze conditions and make rapid decisions during emergencies and communicate instructions clearly.
• Availability for after-hours, night, weekend, storm, and emergency support is required; occasional travel may be necessary.

Nice to have

• Four-year engineering or technical degree from an accredited ABET institution.
