Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Location: Round Rock, Texas, United States; onsite at 2701 S Interstate 35

Salary: $35.00–$70.00 per hour, plus possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Oversee installation, commissioning, maintenance, and performance of commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems, refrigeration units, ductwork, and building pneumatics.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Manage refrigerant handling, parts inventory, company vehicles, and vendor relationships.
• Coordinate, train, mentor, and evaluate field technicians.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support incident resolution, process improvements, and special projects.

Requirements

• Three years of experience in HVAC or grocery rack refrigeration, or six years of experience plus an Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC/R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• At least one year of plumbing, electrical, material-handling equipment, or related experience, or two years of Walmart store experience.
• Valid state-issued driver's license, acceptable commercial driving record, and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Experience leading teams, troubleshooting systems, managing service workloads, and following OSHA, EPA, and applicable HVAC/R codes.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year technical or vocational HVAC/R program or associate degree in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, Glycol systems, and CO2 systems.
