Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri, United States; onsite work at a hirify.global Supercenter

Salary: $35.00–$70.00 per hour, plus possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

What you will do

• Oversee installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, building pneumatics, rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and supermarket refrigeration units.
• Lead diagnostics, troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues.
• Supervise field practices and documentation in accordance with OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant-handling protocols, and applicable HVAC/R codes.
• Coordinate HVAC/R field teams, assign work, mentor technicians, deliver hands-on training, and manage escalated service issues.
• Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, vendor relationships, service calls, regional workloads, and special improvement projects.
• Participate in on-call rotations, maintain company vehicles, and respond to business-critical incidents outside standard business hours.

Requirements

• Three years of experience in HVAC or grocery rack refrigeration, or six years of such experience plus an Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling must be held and maintained.
• HVAC/R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required, plus experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, a related area, or hirify.global stores.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report; commercial driving record must meet the stated safety requirements.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery, commercial motor vehicles, hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year technical or vocational HVAC/R program or associate degree in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software.
• Experience with glycol and CO2 systems.
