Project Manager (Railway Automation)

Location: Hauppauge, New York, United States; on-site coordination may be required, with domestic and international travel of up to 15–20%.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead technical projects from requirements definition through delivery, installation, deployment, and post-installation handoff.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable technical and functional specifications.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and status reports.
• Coordinate engineering, production, procurement, field service, and customer stakeholders.
• Oversee product customization, installation activities, risk mitigation, issue escalation, and change resolution.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure a successful handoff to the Service team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience managing end-to-end technical projects, preferably involving integrated hardware/software systems or industrial product deployments.
• Experience defining technical and functional requirements, coordinating customer-site installations, and managing project budgets, resources, and schedules.
• Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Confluence, or JIRA.
• Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage critical-path issues.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15–20%.

Nice to have

• PMP certification or an equivalent project management credential.
• Experience in railway, transportation, automation, or machine vision industries.
• Familiarity with sensor systems, vision technologies, embedded hardware/software integration, or regulated environments such as ISO 9001.
• German or French proficiency for international travel requirements.
