What you will do

• Co-teach and create an engaging, joyful classroom that supports academic discourse and student mastery.
• Teach mathematics, reading, writing, English language arts, science, and social studies.
• Analyze student work and assessment data with school leaders and instructional coaches.
• Differentiate instruction and support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
• Build relationships with students and families and coordinate resources supporting student learning.
• Participate in school routines, team planning, professional development, mentoring, coaching, and school-wide meetings.

Requirements

• Commitment to supporting K–12 students’ social-emotional and academic development.
• Interest in working with students in urban schools and communities; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.
• Academic background in elementary education, humanities, English, social sciences, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required before employment begins.
• New York State certification eligibility is required; teachers without an education degree must enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5.
• New York State teacher certification must be obtained within a reasonable period after employment begins.
