Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)

Location: hirify.global Labs, Commerce Park, Cornbrash, Frome, UK. On-site role with rotating shifts from 6:00–14:15 and 14:00–22:15, 41.25 hours per week.

What you will do

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, including conveyors, motors, control panels, and automated machinery.
• Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs in line with safety standards and manufacturer guidance.
• Support continuous improvement and engineering projects focused on equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain accurate records in the company CMMS system.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Provide technical support and collaborate with production and operations teams.

Requirements

• Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3, ONC, or HNC qualification in electrical or multi-skilled maintenance engineering.
• Experience in a similar maintenance engineering role within manufacturing, FMCG, or an industrial environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills, including PLCs, sensors, drives, and control systems.
• Basic mechanical knowledge covering bearings, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work independently under pressure.

Nice to have

• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
• Experience with automated systems, robotics, or packaging machinery.
• Knowledge of lean maintenance and continuous improvement methods such as TPM, Kaizen, or 5S.
