Software Enginner (React/TypeScript)

Location: Welcome Building; flexible hybrid working options are available. The company is based in Bristol, UK.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing frontend applications with React and TypeScript.
• Build responsive, accessible, intuitive, and maintainable user interfaces with reusable components.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST and GraphQL APIs and contribute to API-driven platform capabilities.
• Support services that update, manage, and maintain customer data.
• Contribute across backend services, AWS cloud technologies, performance, reliability, observability, and CI/CD practices.
• Own frontend features from development through production and collaborate with Product, Design, Platform, and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Solid experience with React, TypeScript, modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience building customer-facing web applications and reusable component-based interfaces.
• Understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, frontend state and data management, JSON, and backend integration.
• Experience or familiarity with TanStack Query, Zustand or similar state management tools, Vite, and Tailwind CSS.
• Understanding of Node.js, AWS, cloud-based applications, Git workflows, and CI/CD.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and continuous-learning skills.

Nice to have

• Experience or interest in micro-frontend architectures and GraphQL schemas or clients.
• Knowledge of Typesense, Elasticsearch, Contentful, LaunchDarkly, OAuth, analytics, or Grafana.
• Financial services experience or previous work in a full-stack engineering team.
• Experience with AI-assisted and agentic software development workflows.
