Plant Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: Wood Dale, Illinois, United States; supports the Wood Dale and Elk Grove facilities.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop site-level operating budgets, financial forecasts, monthly reporting, KPI dashboards, and variance analyses for both facilities.
• Partner with plant directors, operations, supply chain, cost accounting, and global finance teams to support operational decisions.
• Analyze material, labor, overhead, inventory, and manufacturing cost performance and turn findings into actionable recommendations.
• Identify, quantify, track, and report cost improvement and productivity initiatives.
• Support capital expenditure planning, post-investment analysis, month-end and year-end close, and plant-level financial submissions.
• Maintain internal controls, support SOX compliance and audit readiness, and improve financial accountability across the plant floor.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in operations finance, plant controlling, or manufacturing finance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience delivering cost improvement or productivity outcomes with operational leaders.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, or an equivalent ERP system, plus strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to non-finance audiences and build trusted relationships with plant leadership.

Nice to have

• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting designation, or active pursuit.
• Experience with multi-site manufacturing operations in a publicly traded company.
• Experience in standard costing, inventory management, manufacturing variance analysis, Lean, Kaizen, or VPS.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau for financial dashboards and collaboration across global finance teams.
