Operations Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: In-office at the American Fork, Utah headquarters; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Own monthly reconciliations for raw materials, work in progress, finished goods, inventory reserves, and related general ledger accounts.
• Analyze purchase price, usage, and manufacturing variances, investigate root causes, and partner with Operations on resolution.
• Lead cycle counting and year-end physical inventory processes, including planning, reconciliation, and variance reporting.
• Manage standard cost updates and fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and subledger reconciliation.
• Serve as the accounting lead for the Oracle ERP implementation, validating bills of materials, routings, and manufacturing cost setups.
• Support financial close, audits, compliance, process improvements, internal controls, and mentoring of junior accounting staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including cost, inventory, manufacturing, or plant accounting.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP for inventory, cost accounting, and fixed assets, including standard costing and variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables, plus experience with a major ERP or accounting system.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; drug screening and background checks are required upon employment.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA certification, or active pursuit of certification.
• Experience supporting Oracle ERP inventory and manufacturing module implementations.
• Experience with annual standard cost rolls, BOM and routing validation, high-growth companies, or people management.
