Head of Campus Support & Security

What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership across campus support, security, access control, crime reduction, car parks, and traffic management.
• Lead specialist managers and multidisciplinary operational teams, building a collaborative and high-performing service culture.
• Develop long-term strategies, lead change, and deliver measurable service improvements across operational services.
• Oversee crime reduction, emergency response coordination, major event security planning, and campus resilience.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and effective parking, mobility, and traffic management operations.
• Build partnerships with police, local authorities, universities, service providers, senior leaders, and governance groups.

Requirements

• Significant senior leadership experience in a large or complex organisation, including management of managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Senior-level knowledge of security, crime reduction, access control, or estates operations.
• Experience setting strategy, leading change, improving services, and managing budgets and financial governance.
• Strong understanding of health and safety, operational risk, complex environments, digital systems, and technology-enabled service improvement.
• Knowledge of traffic management and mobility services, plus understanding of Martyn's Law and its implications for higher education environments.
• Relevant professional qualification or extensive equivalent senior-level experience, with strong judgement, resilience, communication, and influencing skills.
