Construction Inspector (Water Infrastructure)

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States; on-site. Regular travel to field locations is expected.

Salary: $35.00–$43.00 per hour

What you will do

• Observe and document construction activities on assigned project sites.
• Support a 9,000 LF water main replacement project at the University at Buffalo, scheduled from approximately November 2026 through August 2028.
• Coordinate with LaBella, campus representatives, and the contractor to resolve complex site situations.
• Interpret construction documents and methods in the field.
• Prepare field reports and record documents.
• Travel regularly to field locations and conduct SWPPP inspections.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of construction inspection experience.
• Experience with roads, stormwater utilities, water and sanitary sewer line installations, and SWPPP inspections.
• Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
• OSHA 10-hour certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Additional certifications may be required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of erosion and sediment control installation and maintenance.
• Microsoft Office experience.
