Special Inspector Field Engineer (Construction)

Location: 151 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036, USA; field work across multiple job sites

What you will do

• Complete assigned inspections according to the dispatch schedule.
• Perform inspections during assigned shifts, typically 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
• Review construction work against New York State Department of Buildings codes and approved drawings.
• Read construction prints and locate inspection areas.
• Prepare and electronically submit daily inspection reports.
• Travel to multiple job sites and coordinate with project managers.

Requirements

• ICC Commercial or Residential certification is required.
• Certification from ICC, AWS, NICET, and/or ACI is preferred or required according to the applicable inspection scope.
• Familiarity with the New York City Building Code and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver license, and the ability to travel between job sites.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. Ability to work various shifts and lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required.

Nice to have

• Technical, associate’s, or bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, or another engineering discipline.
