Water & Wastewater Construction Inspector

What you will do

• Inspect and document water, wastewater, reclaimed water, pipeline, pump station, lift station, and utility construction.
• Verify compliance with plans, specifications, schedules, contract documents, approved submittals, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate inspection activities with contractors, project engineers, utility staff, municipal agencies, and other representatives.
• Perform field measurements, calculations, quantity verification, and progress payment support.
• Document daily site activities, testing results, non-conforming work, as-constructed information, and redline markups.
• Support punch lists, record documentation, final estimate packages, and project closeout.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of construction inspection experience; the posting lists 4+ years of experience as a condition.
• Experience with water, wastewater, utility, municipal infrastructure, or public works construction.
• Ability to read and apply engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Ability to obtain required certifications and pass applicable qualification tests.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, attention to detail, and ability to work independently outdoors in physically demanding conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience with water distribution and wastewater collection systems, pipelines, force mains, pump stations, lift stations, valves, manholes, and utility structures.
• ACI, ATTI, materials testing, or other construction-related certifications.
• Experience with municipal utility projects and public agency clients.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic project documentation systems.
