CAD Technician II - Water Main Replacement Design

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid work model. In-person Day 1 onboarding at an hirify.global office is required. Relocation is not available.

Salary: USD 26–40 per hour

What you will do

• Create construction documents using MicroStation.
• Generate utility basemaps and proposed water main replacement design drawings.
• Coordinate with design engineers from preliminary design through final approved drawings.
• Develop utility survey plans for water main and Force Account teams.
• Perform quality control, drawing standardization, and updates to border and seed files.
• Create and update IDOT traffic control and water main installation details.

Requirements

• High school diploma plus two years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Extensive proven design experience with MicroStation.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering or construction environment.
• Good communication, coordination, teamwork, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and respond effectively to changing priorities.
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with GIS.
• Professional experience with utilities.
