Category Manager (Global Sourcing)

Location: Hanover, NH, United States; relocation assistance is available. Travel: 20–40% domestic and international.

Salary: $93,936–$156,562 annual base pay.

What you will do

• Define, document, and drive category strategies with Business Team Category Specialists.
• Manage fabricated metal, formed metal, machined metal, and machined non-metal supplier categories.
• Lead supplier searches, qualification processes, performance reviews, reductions, and terminations.
• Negotiate supplier contracts in alignment with Legal, Finance, Operations, and Logistics.
• Assess and maintain supplier risk, develop procurement tools and processes, and provide training.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage procurement projects, milestones, and supplier transitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of supply chain experience.
• Proven project management experience and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of business needs, regulations, legal requirements, supplier contracts, and negotiations.
• Experience with Lean concepts, complex value stream mapping, and PFMEAs.
• Ability to perform cost/benefit analyses, make-or-buy modeling, total cost of ownership, inventory holding cost, and cost of capital analysis.
• Strong analytical, statistical, written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills with close attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience as a hirify.global Category Specialist or Category Manager.
• Knowledge of Oracle and/or Insight purchasing modules.
• Experience managing the listed sourcing categories and knowledge of Lean/JIT methodology.
• ISM or APICS certification.
• Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
