Senior Backend Software Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; work from anywhere in the U.S. or from the New York City office

Expected pay range: $168,000–$210,000 per year

hirify.global is building an AI-powered food and wellness platform that recommends and delivers groceries, recipes, and supplements.

What you will do

• Own cross-service engineering infrastructure and the processes used to design, implement, and maintain backend services.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain REST API endpoints, database changes, business logic, and integrations.
• Lead technical discussions and help select effective solutions for complex engineering problems.
• Work with engineering leads to plan and execute large projects.
• Improve code quality through reviews, testing, technical presentations, and refactoring.
• Mentor developers and participate in interviewing and hiring decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• 3+ years using Python and its wider ecosystem as a primary development environment.
• 3+ years designing and extending RESTful APIs.
• 3+ years working with a web framework such as Django, Flask, or Rails.
• 2+ years of relational SQL experience and 2+ years troubleshooting production issues.

Nice to have

• Full-stack engineering experience.
• Experience with AI-powered developer tools, AWS, Infrastructure as Code, or Git.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
