Systems Engineering Manager (ATC and FAA)

Location: Frederick, Maryland, USA; onsite most days

Total compensation: $165,000–$200,000 per year, including base salary, variable pay when applicable, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of systems engineers and support staff.
• Direct systems engineering strategy, roadmaps, technical standards, architecture, and design reviews.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary and matrixed engineering organizations across systems, test, design, production, service, quality, software, and R&D.
• Translate customer needs into requirements and competitive technical solutions for an Air Traffic Control Voice Communication System program.
• Maintain technical documentation and prepare progress, issue, and resolution reports.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings with program teams and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; a master’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management is preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in systems and test engineering environments.
• At least 3 years of direct people-management experience with teams of 5–20 engineers and support staff.
• Experience with requirements management processes and tools, as well as writing, maintaining, and auditing SOPs, work instructions, and test plans.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100D compliance requirements and strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident able to obtain an interim or final suitability determination after the required background investigation.
