Systems Engineer (Space)

Location: Full-time, on-site in Boulder, Colorado, United States; remote work is not available. Candidates must live near or be willing to move to the Boulder area.

Salary: $115,000–$162,000 annually, depending on job-related skills, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Apply systems engineering practices across CONOPS, requirements, architecture, design, development, integration, testing, operations, and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain requirements, architecture designs, interface control documents, use cases, system flow diagrams, and test plans.
• Support Technical Interchange Meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary development teams, government teams, vendors, and customers to resolve technical issues.
• Conduct special studies, manage technical risks, and communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and take on leadership responsibilities when needed.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required, with eligibility for TS/SCI and a polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or computer science; relevant experience may substitute for education.
• At least eight years of systems engineering experience across multiple program lifecycle stages.
• Hands-on experience in software, cloud, networking, or cyber, plus experience in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• Experience identifying and managing technical risks, presenting technical information, and explaining technical concepts clearly.
• Must live near or be willing to move to Boulder, Colorado, because the work must be performed in the office.

Nice to have

• Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI and a polygraph.
• Master’s degree in systems engineering or a related engineering field.
• Experience with Department of War or Intelligence Community space programs and Overhead Persistent Infrared ground systems.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo, DOORS, Jira, or Confluence.
• Experience working in an agile workflow team environment.
