Senior Payroll Specialist

What you will do

• Own and oversee payroll activities for the Netherlands, UK, and Spain, ensuring accurate, timely, compliant, and well-controlled payroll runs.
• Provide expert guidance on payroll legislation, tax, benefits, employment-related matters, statutory reporting, and year-end processes.
• Maintain accurate employee, compensation, benefits, and tax data across payroll and HR systems.
• Partner with HR, Finance, employees, managers, and payroll vendors to resolve complex and sensitive cases.
• Review payroll processes and controls, eliminate manual work, and implement automation, integrations, AI, and scalable documentation.
• Manage payroll tickets, escalations, risks, policies, templates, process documentation, and Confluence content.

Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll experience in a senior payroll specialist, payroll officer, or similar role.
• PDL (Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie) or an equivalent relevant payroll qualification.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Dutch and UK payroll legislation, regulations, and institutions.
• Experience with Spanish payroll and international, multi-country HR environments.
• Native-level Dutch and fluent English, written and spoken.
• Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms, preferably across multiple systems or providers.
