Finance & AI Automation Intern (AI)

Location: Remote from a compatible European time zone; hybrid near Amsterdam. The posting lists the Netherlands and Belgium.

Salary: €1,250–€1,750 per month, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Run invoice processing, month-end reporting, payroll data preparation, expense management, and intercompany recharges.
• Support finance operations across Belgian, Dutch, and US entities using multiple currencies and accounting systems.
• Automate manual finance workflows with Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub, the hirify.global MCP, or advanced spreadsheet solutions.
• Build reconciliations and controls into automations to verify outputs before review.
• Document processes so they can be followed by colleagues and AI agents.
• Support reporting, analysis, and ad hoc Finance team projects.

Requirements

• Currently studying toward or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Experience using AI tools or building automations, scripts, or advanced spreadsheet solutions, with the ability to demonstrate how outputs were checked.
• Strong attention to detail and a habit of verifying financial data before approval.
• Ability to independently learn GitHub, MCP-based integrations, and finance systems.
• Proactive approach to identifying and automating repetitive manual work.
• Fluent written and spoken English and availability during European business hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with Exact Online, QuickBooks, or ERP systems.
• Exposure to Python, SQL, or API-based automation.
• Prior startup or fast-paced work experience.

Hiring process

• Application with short questions, followed by a recorded video interview.
• 20-minute interview and a take-home assignment requiring approximately 5–6 hours.
• 45-minute assignment deep dive followed by a final interview.
