Business Continuity, Emergency Services and Risk Lead (Telecommunications)

Location: NSW, Australia. Hybrid arrangement: three days in the office and two days from wherever works best.

What you will do

• Lead operational resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning across Field Operations.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks within the broader Networks risk structure.
• Prepare Field Operations for major incidents, severe weather, natural disasters, and network disruptions.
• Direct field restoration activities, resource deployment, and emergency response during critical events.
• Coordinate response priorities and restoration outcomes with the Network Operations Centre.
• Lead post-incident reviews, executive reporting, and continuous improvement of operational readiness.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, Operations Management, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in telecommunications, network operations, field operations, or critical infrastructure.
• Expertise in operational risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience planning.
• Experience leading major incident response, emergency management, or operational recovery programs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across multiple business functions.
• Understanding of network operations and field service delivery environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in telecommunications, utilities, or other critical infrastructure sectors.
• Experience working with emergency services agencies such as SES, RFS, or DFES.
• Familiarity with Network Operations Centre environments, network restoration tools, and workforce management systems.
