Safety, Health & Wellbeing Lead (Retail/Hospitality)

Location: NSW/ACT, Australia; hybrid working with regular intrastate travel and occasional interstate travel required

What you will do

• Partner with NSW/ACT operational leaders, brand managers, and site teams to embed workplace safety and health into daily operations.
• Conduct Category 1 and 2 ICAM root-cause investigations, support Category 3 and 4 reviews, and manage dangerous occurrences and corrective action plans.
• Lead physical and mental health initiatives and promote a comprehensive approach to team member wellbeing.
• Support the Safety Management System, self-insurance audits, regulatory compliance, and engagement with WorkSafe and external regulators.
• Analyse incident data and trends to create risk assessments, safety alerts, work instructions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Inspect new site openings, coach operational teams during onboarding, and deliver interactive WHS training.

Requirements

• Minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety; a Diploma is preferred.
• ICAM certification and a current, valid driver’s licence.
• Solid WHS experience, preferably in retail and/or hospitality environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHS Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and hazard management principles.
• Experience in root-cause investigation, safety planning, group facilitation, project execution, and stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to travel regularly across NSW/ACT and occasionally interstate.
