Child Safety Officer

Location: Hybrid work across Sydney Olympic Park and Sydney CBD offices, with work from home as agreed and required.

What you will do

• Develop and manage the Group’s Child Safety Framework, policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, standards, complaints processes, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate child safety governance, assurance, compliance monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage Working with Children Check processes, including disclosures, regulatory notifications, records, verification, onboarding, jurisdictional movement, and offboarding.
• Provide recommendations and reports to senior leaders and governance forums on child safety compliance, performance, breaches, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Coach Business Unit Child Safe representatives and support the implementation of child safety obligations and culturally capable practices.
• Act as the escalation point for child safety complaints, concerns, and incidents, while supporting training needs analysis and program delivery.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Law, Social Work, Psychology, Safety, Risk, Compliance, or Child Education.
• Experience supporting change management initiatives in a large organisation.
• Knowledge of National Child Safety Standards, relevant legislation, and assurance frameworks.
• Experience delivering programs and projects that improve organisational safety and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strategic and communication plans, presentations, and reports.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
