Safety, Health & Wellbeing Lead SE/QLD

Location: State-based in South East Queensland, with the listed site in Acacia Ridge, QLD. Hybrid ways of working are offered, with regular intrastate and occasional interstate travel required.

What you will do

• Provide operational and advisory safety support to retail and hospitality brands across Queensland.
• Implement, monitor, and review the safety strategy and safety management system.
• Partner with state, area, venue, and store managers to address safety challenges, coach teams, and facilitate WHS training.
• Investigate Category 1 and 2 incidents, support Category 3 and 4 investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and monitor corrective actions.
• Lead physical and mental health initiatives and support wellness programs.
• Conduct site-opening inspections, support compliance and self-insurance audits, and prepare risk assessments, safety alerts, and work instructions.

Requirements

• Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or higher.
• Strong safety expertise and understanding of retail or hospitality operations.
• Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and hazard management principles.
• Proven experience in root-cause investigations and implementing long-term preventative controls.
• Ability to build relationships with complex stakeholder groups, deliver training, and coach operational teams.
• Current valid driver’s licence and willingness to undertake regular intrastate and occasional interstate travel.

• Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety.
• ICAM Certification.
• Knowledge of Return to Work and recovery processes.
