Director, Head of Digital Quality & Intelligence (AI)

Location: US-CA-Santa Clara

Salary: $153,040–$286,950 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the Digital Quality & Intelligence strategy, portfolio, and roadmap across Global Quality and Global Regulatory Affairs.
• Direct a global team of data analysts, data scientists, and software developers.
• Translate quality, regulatory, and business needs into analytics, automation, AI, eQMS, and scalable digital solutions.
• Establish governance, infrastructure, lifecycle controls, validation, release, adoption, and support practices.
• Manage portfolio, program, and project execution, including prioritization, resources, dependencies, risks, executive reporting, and benefits realization.
• Drive change adoption and advise senior quality leaders on data science, automation, and future quality strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, data science, engineering, life sciences, or a related quantitative or scientific field; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of industry experience with increasing managerial responsibility and matrix leadership in a life science environment.
• 5+ years managing diverse global teams, including 3+ years leading analytics, automation, AI, digital quality, or related technology-enabled quality capabilities.
• Experience with QMS functions, global process harmonization, regulated quality operations, inspection readiness, governance, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with complex portfolio and program management, eQMS implementation, digital quality transformation, roadmap execution, and executive reporting.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, plus working knowledge of analytics platforms, data architecture, cloud environments, programming, Agile delivery, and modern development practices.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of responsible AI, data governance, model oversight, audit readiness, and Computer System Validation principles, including FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Databricks, Blue Prism, Power Automate, SAP Build Process Automation, UiPath, or equivalent platforms.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative, scientific, engineering, or life sciences field.
