Eng Del System Operator Assc (Power Systems)

Location: New Albany, Ohio, United States. Full-time role requiring work at the designated worksite, including twelve-hour uninterrupted rotating shifts with nights, weekends, and holidays. Timely reporting may be required during emergency events.

What you will do

• Monitor asset health, system health, fire monitoring, advanced grid applications, voltage profiles, transformer performance, line performance, and equipment operating limits.
• Support real-time transmission and distribution system operations in coordination with security coordinators, dispatch centers, transmission control centers, field services, and neighboring utilities.
• Monitor compliance-related conditions for PRC002, PRC004, and TPL007 and provide data-driven guidance to stakeholders.
• Prepare switching orders, direct switching during emergency conditions, and support safe restoration of equipment and customers.
• Observe SCADA, metering, communications, and weather information systems; report malfunctions and severe weather conditions.
• Maintain operational logs and records of station entry and exit activity.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field, or a high school diploma with two years of experience demonstrating the ability to operate a power system.
• Entry-level candidates are eligible; experience in substation operation, protective relaying, or distribution dispatching is desired but not required.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Must pass the System Operator/Power Dispatching test and complete required training and testing within established time frames.
• Ability to work under pressure, analyze information, communicate instructions clearly, and handle multiple situations during critical system conditions.
• Must work a twelve-hour uninterrupted rotating schedule covering nights, weekends, and holidays, with possible emergency call-ins, travel, and hazardous situations.
