Process Development Senior Scientist (Organic Chemistry)

Location: Thousand Oaks, California, United States; work may also be based at the Cambridge, Massachusetts campus.

Salary: $126,066.05–$170,559.95 per year

What you will do

• Invent synthetic routes and develop safe, robust, cost-effective processes for synthetic and hybrid drug substances.
• Advance enabling technologies that accelerate pharmaceutical development and improve sustainability and process efficiency.
• Support cGMP manufacturing and technology transfer to internal facilities and external contract manufacturers.
• Model, characterize, and ensure process performance and understanding.
• Provide experimental results, technical updates, documentation, data interpretation, and recommendations to drug substance development teams.
• Prepare regulatory documents, support filings, and collaborate with chemists, engineers, and attribute scientists.

Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, or MD in Chemistry completed by August 2026; alternatively, a master's degree with 3 years of scientific experience or a bachelor's degree with 5 years of scientific experience.
• Strong background in organic chemistry and demonstrated scientific innovation.
• Ability to work independently, manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• PhD in organic chemistry specializing in total synthesis, reaction methodology, or mechanistic studies.
• Postdoctoral experience in an academic laboratory or pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Peer-reviewed publications and research presentations.
• Research summary included with the CV.
