Salary: $136,800–$167,200 USD per year, plus a performance-based annual cash bonus and equity compensation.

What you will do

  • Lead the development, optimization, and characterization of solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis processes for sgRNA, with a focus on scalability and OP100 technology transfer.
  • Design and execute process characterization studies and DoEs, troubleshoot analytical data, and support downstream purification improvements.
  • Support MSAT with technology transfer, process validation, and continuous process verification activities.
  • Track milestones, dependencies, risks, laboratory resources, and priorities across concurrent process-development workstreams.
  • Coordinate with external manufacturers, supply-chain partners, and CDMOs supporting sgRNA and lipid manufacturing.
  • Author and review SOPs, batch records, development reports, regulatory filing sections, validation documentation, and change controls.

Requirements

  • Onsite work in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States.
  • Expertise in phosphoramidite and oligonucleotide process chemistry, including hands-on solid-phase synthesis and automated synthesizers such as OP100 or Oligosynt.
  • Strong proficiency in HPLC and LC-MS for oligonucleotide characterization and analytical troubleshooting.
  • PhD in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience; or an MS in a related discipline with at least 8 years of experience.
  • Experience with GxP operations, quality systems, pharmaceutical development lifecycles, technical writing, and regulatory documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and external partners, and mentor junior scientists.

Nice to have

  • Strong organic chemistry foundation and working knowledge of small-molecule manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with small-molecule, nucleoside, or related process chemistry.
