Procurement Manager (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Austin, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, or Seattle (Hybrid)

Compensation: $200,000 – $240,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Own long-lead procurement for the compressor program, including motors, bearings, and pressure vessels.
• Qualify and dual-source vendors to eliminate critical path bottlenecks.
• Manage procurement for both prototype builds and production ramps simultaneously.
• Collaborate with engineering on make-versus-buy decisions to optimize design for supply.
• Ensure procurement schedules align with aggressive concept-to-production timelines.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Proven experience buying long-lead engineered hardware where lead time was the primary program constraint.
• Experience qualifying second sources for parts previously restricted to a single vendor.
• Ability to influence engineering designs early in the process for supply chain optimization.
• Experience managing supplier relationships through prototype builds with evolving specifications.

Nice to have

• Experience with rotating machinery and precision-machined components.
• Background in aerospace or defense supply bases.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, bearings, and pressure equipment.
• Experience with prototype-to-production transitions in hardware startups.
