Program Manager II (Biotech)

Location: Onsite in Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 annually, with potential incentive compensation and a corporate bonus program.

What you will do

• Manage the development, execution, and completion of integrated plans for complex technical and scientific programs.
• Oversee contract costs, resource allocation, budgets, schedules, forecasts, technical performance, and program metrics.
• Develop integrated reporting, conduct regular reviews, manage risks, and keep programs on track.
• Translate long-term program objectives into short-term operational tasks, processes, and procedures.
• Communicate with and influence sponsors, customers, senior management, and other stakeholders.
• Hire, train, manage, evaluate, motivate, lead, and coach professional staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing complex technical or scientific programs, or multiple complex projects across several contracts.
• Comprehensive understanding of contract scope, deliverables, and contract interpretation.
• Experience overseeing program costs, resources, budgets, technical performance, and schedules.
• Experience with integrated plans, forecasts, status summaries, metrics, risk reviews, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience hiring, developing, managing, evaluating, leading, motivating, and coaching professional staff.

Nice to have

• Government contract program management experience, including contracts valued at least $10 million annually.
• Experience managing teams of at least 10 people.
• Life sciences education or experience in a biotech environment.
