Grad Intern - Operations - Engineering (Summer 2027)

Location: Remote or onsite in the United States; onsite locations include New Albany, Ohio; Holly Springs, North Carolina; South San Francisco, California; or Thousand Oaks, California. Students must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship and authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary: $35.34–$41.20 per hour

What you will do

• Lead or independently drive defined engineering project workstreams from problem framing and analysis through recommendations and implementation planning.
• Support project design teams and subject-matter experts with engineering plans, standards, equipment selection, and technical documentation.
• Analyze technical feasibility, lifecycle impacts, costs, schedules, risks, and benefits for capital-project decisions and business cases.
• Assess engineering, construction, and operational processes to identify opportunities for standardization, efficiency, innovation, and risk reduction.
• Develop or improve digital, automation, data, AI-enabled tools, and dashboards for engineering workflows and decision-making.
• Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to Engineering leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States and authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program.
• Must be at least 18 years old, hold a bachelor's degree, and be enrolled in an accredited MBA, master's, PharmD, or Ph.D. program with the required first year completed before the internship starts.
• Must be available for a full-time schedule during the approximately 13-week program and remain enrolled after the internship or co-op.
• Relevant studies may include engineering, construction management, architecture, computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, operations research, mathematics, statistics, environmental health, public health, or related fields.
• Experience with engineering, analytics, research, continuous improvement, structured problem-solving, data analysis, project management, and technical communication.
• Future full-time employment must be accepted and started by July 2028 if offered.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, SQL, Power BI or Tableau, data visualization, statistical analysis, process modeling, BIM or Revit, automation platforms, or generative AI tools.
• Interest in applying AI, automation, data, and digital tools to engineering processes, capital-project delivery, quality, safety, or operational performance.
