Scientist/Sr. Scientist, Bioinformatics Data (Bioinformatics)

Location: Hybrid role based in Somerset, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $127,313–$167,099 USD base pay annually, plus performance-based bonus and/or equity for eligible roles

What you will do

• Analyze large-scale genomic datasets, including RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, WES/WGS, epigenetic, and multi-omics data.
• Identify biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and disease mechanisms using statistical, machine learning, and data-mining methods.
• Perform quality control, normalization, and batch correction across heterogeneous datasets.
• Design, optimize, and maintain reproducible, scalable bioinformatics pipelines and version-controlled code architectures.
• Integrate biological databases with internal datasets and convert complex computational findings into clear biological narratives.
• Collaborate with IT, experimental biologists, clinicians, and other functional groups.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Genomics, Biology, or a related quantitative field.
• Required experience with genomic and next-generation sequencing data analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in R and/or Python, including tools such as Bioconductor, Tidyverse, Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
• Experience with alignment tools, variant callers, and single-cell toolkits such as Seurat or Scanpy.
• Strong experience applying AI in data science, with excellent critical thinking, debugging, communication, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
• Experience with Docker or Singularity containerization.
• Experience working with emerging computational methods and complex biological technologies.
