Plant Finance Lead (Biotech)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; Oxford, England; manufacturing operations in Harwell, UK, and Laval, Canada. The role follows a 70/30 in-office work model.

What you will do

• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning across manufacturing sites and an external drug product CMO.
• Deliver monthly financial analysis, variance reporting, KPI monitoring, and operational performance insights.
• Oversee standard costing, product costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing variance analysis, and financial close activities.
• Evaluate capital investment proposals, build business cases, and perform NPV, ROI, payback, and project-spend analysis.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, External Operations, Corporate Accounting, and auditors to improve performance and compliance.
• Maintain internal controls, support SOX compliance and audits, standardize processes, and mentor finance colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including significant manufacturing finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing operations, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
• Strong collaboration, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or highly regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
