Senior Data Scientist

Location: Remote (Multiple countries including Canada, Ireland, and the United States). Must be available for meetings during coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).

Salary: $163,560–$240,092 USD (US) or $196,012–$246,625 CAD (Canada).

What you will do

• Own high-impact problem spaces across product and business domains, from framing questions to implementing solutions.
• Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to shape product strategy and anticipate future challenges.
• Design and evaluate randomized controlled experiments to measure the impact of product changes.
• Analyze product data to uncover root causes of metric movements and usage patterns.
• Develop methodologies and frameworks to improve the data team's analytical capabilities.
• Mentor other data scientists and promote industry best practices across the team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of analytical work experience, including 5+ years as a Data Scientist at a senior or staff level.
• Expertise in statistical techniques such as regression, hypothesis testing, and causal inference.
• Extensive experience with procedural programming languages like Python or R.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional efforts and own complex product areas.
• Strong communication skills for translating business needs into analytical questions.
• Availability for coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience evaluating recommender systems.
• Experience with large datasets and distributed computing tools like Presto or Trino.
• Experience setting technical direction or strategy for a major workstream.
