Chief of Staff, Head of Marketing Strategy & Operations (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States. Work persona: Flexible.

Base pay: $263,900–$448,600 per year, plus equity where applicable, variable or incentive compensation, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the marketing operating model, planning rhythm, performance systems, budgets, and metrics connecting strategy to business results.
• Lead the Office of the CMO and keep the marketing leadership team aligned with company priorities.
• Build frameworks, governance, processes, and change-management programs that improve marketing speed, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Oversee the Marketing AI Center of Excellence, including AI adoption, governance, and innovation across strategy, content, and execution.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, IT, Product, and HR to define enterprise buying-group engagement and simplify cross-functional operations.
• Lead major initiatives, M&A integration, program management, and development of a high-performing marketing organization.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience leading marketing operations, strategy, or transformation in global, matrixed organizations.
• Proven experience scaling complex operating systems with clarity, speed, and discipline.
• Deep expertise in planning, budgeting, performance management, and marketing ROI.
• Experience leading transformation, modernizing processes, and driving organizational accountability.
• Experience leading senior teams across operations, planning, and emerging capabilities such as AI.
• Strong communication, influencing, and leadership skills with a calm, steady operating style.
