Automation Specialist (SCADA)

Location: Deadhorse, Alaska, United States; 12-hour days on a 14/14-day rotational assignment on the North Slope of Alaska

hirify.global operates oil and gas production facilities requiring industrial automation, process control, SCADA, telemetry, and operational technology systems.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot Automation/SCADA, distributed control, telemetry, and computer systems for field operations.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems, including Allen-Bradley, GE, and Modicon platforms.
• Design, program, and troubleshoot HMI/DCS applications using graphical design, scripting, and database queries.
• Set up and maintain process control networks using Ethernet, OPC, Modbus, ControlNet, and related automation protocols.
• Design and manage control system and SCADA projects, documentation, standards, alarming governance, and cybersecurity-related updates.
• Work with instrumentation and electrical teams, and mentor junior personnel through training and work-plan and system-installation reviews.

Requirements

• Ability to work 12-hour days on a 14/14-day rotational assignment on the North Slope of Alaska.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation and SCADA architecture, including control, measurement, safety systems, telemetry, RTUs, administration, programming, and database administration.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical drawings, P&IDs, industrial controls, networking, desktop systems, printers, and office applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, computer science, or a related technical field plus three years of industrial process control/SCADA experience; or an associate degree plus five years of progressive experience; or seven years of progressively responsible experience in industrial process control, SCADA, or operational technology.
• Strong communication, diagnostic, problem-solving, prioritization, documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with one or more listed platforms, including AVEVA, Honeywell Experion, Rockwell Studio 5000, Emerson PAC Machine Edition, ProWORX 32, Siemens 4-mation, or ABB S+ Engineering/Composer.
