Electrical Controls Programmer (PLC/Robotics)

Location: Fairfield, New Jersey, USA; onsite work with travel to customer sites required

What you will do

• Develop PLC, Servo, HMI, and robotics programs for packaging machines and assemblies.
• Interpret technical specifications and application parameters and prepare software modifications.
• Commission new machines on the shop floor and support machine start-up at customer sites.
• Design electrical control panels, machine wiring systems, power distribution, and control architectures.
• Create and maintain bills of material, electrical documentation, software backups, engineering change records, schematics, panel layouts, and technical drawings.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, manufacturing, assembly, installation, and other departments.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 PLC programming and FactoryTalk.
• Understanding of industrial automation, robotics, electrical wiring diagrams, engineering principles, and technical specifications.
• Ability to use MS Office, ERP systems, and CAD software, including AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, planning, prioritization, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Willingness and ability to fly to customer sites and a valid driver's license are required.

Nice to have

• Packaging industry experience.
• Allen Bradley Servo Control experience.
• Knowledge of Beckhoff TwinCAT and Siemens systems.
