Manager, Quality Control (Food Safety)

Location: Onsite at the Walmart Supercenter in Clermont, Florida, United States

Salary: $80,000–$155,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Oversee grocery product quality, freshness, and food safety as products move from suppliers through distribution centers to stores and clubs.
• Implement quality-control policies, teach inspection practices, calibrate methodologies with USDA Agricultural Marketing Service offices, and communicate acceptance or rejection results to suppliers.
• Manage the seafood HACCP plan by reviewing records, validating critical control points, and communicating with FDA inspectors.
• Monitor cold-chain compliance, temperature records, supplier facilities, growing areas, and corrective actions.
• Oversee Walmart’s fruit-ripening program, including forecasting, ordering, delivery scheduling, product conditioning, exception management, and escalation of issues.
• Lead associates through hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, performance measurement, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Food Science, or a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant experience without the degree.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Experience in agricultural quality control, agronomy, food retail management, or a related field.
• Ability to manage food-safety documentation, quality inspections, cold-chain procedures, and compliance activities.
• Ability to work onsite at the Clermont, Florida distribution facility.
